2026 Scholarship Recipients

The Shaver Lake Trophy Trout Project (SLTTP) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 scholarship awards. This year, three graduating seniors from Sierra High School have been selected to receive scholarships in recognition of their academic achievements, community involvement, and commitment to pursuing higher education in Environmental Sciences and related fields.


Each recipient will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship, with funds distributed upon verification of enrollment at an accredited college, university, or vocational program.


These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters whose continued commitment helps invest in the future of our local students and the stewardship of our natural resources.


Congratulations to our scholarship recipients and to the entire Sierra High School Class of 2026. We wish you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter.

2026 SLTTP Scholarship Recipients

Betty Burley is the daughter of Joni Douglas. While at Sierra High she enrolled in honors,

Advanced Placement and Dual enrollment courses. She played volleyball and basketball and

participated in community activities while maintaining a GPA of 4.21. She plans to attend UC Berkeley

to study Biology/Pre-Med in order to become a pediatrician


Samuel Kliewer is the son of Megan and Christopher Kliewer. He played basketball, football and golf.

Samuel participated in student leadership and community service while taking AP and dual enrollment

courses at Sierra, with a GPA of 4.27. Samuel plans to attend Fresno State University studying Electrical

engineering to pursue a career in electricity generation.


Mya Woodward is the daughter of Shannon Heberlein and Charles Woodward. She will be attending

Fresno State University to study Environmental Science and become a wildlife biologist. While at Sierra,

she participated in community field activities and played volleyball while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

2025 Scholarship Recipients

Shaver Lake Trophy Trout Project (SLTTP) is  proud to announce the recipients of their 2025 scholarships awarded to four Sierra High School graduates.  

These graduates plan on furthering their education in Environmental Sciences.  

Thank you to the numerous generous sponsors, donors and supporters of SLTTP.   We will be awarding $1500.00 per recipient, with funding made available upon completion of an enrollment verification process.    


Congratulations to these four graduates as well as the entire graduating class of 2025!!

2025 SLTTP Scholarship Recipients

ABBIGALE BAYS

Abbigale is the daughter of Natalie Bays. After attending Fresno schools as a child she moved to the Foothills attending Foothill Elementary, Sierra Jr. High and Sierra High School.  Abbigale has committed to Reedley College to study Forestry. 

Abbigale is the recipient of the Capt.  Jack Yandell Scholarship.

ARIANA RODRIGUEZ 

Ariana is the daughter of Beatrice and Eduardo.  She attended our local schools. She is hoping to attend UC Davis as a pre-vet major intending to treat large animals.

  

VIOLET REYNA

Violet Reyna is the daughter of Serena and Derek Reyna.  She attended Fresno Elementary Schools as a child before transferring to Foothill Elementary, Sierra Jr. High and Sierra High School.  Violet is looking at 4 year colleges where she can study and get a degree in Animal Science/Zoology.

 

PAIGE BEARD

Paige  is the daughter of Justin and Megan Beard. She attended Foothill Elementary, Sierra Jr. High and Sierra High School where she played volleyball and was very active in FFA.  She intends to major in Animal Science at Reedley College.


2024 Scholarship Recipients

2024 SLTTP Scholarship Recipients

CHLOE OLIVER 

Chloe wants to attend Cal Poly SL0, majoring in Kinesiology and later becoming a Pediatric Physical Therapist. In addition to ranking near the top of her class, she was active in Volleyball, swimming, ASB and community activities. 

  

LUKE SANCHEZ-BOELE 

Luke plans to attend a 4 year college majoring in Marine Science. In addition to his academic achievements, he has been active in ASB, water polo, swimming, and several community projects.

  

ELLA RULAND 

Ella wants to attend Oregon State to study Forestry/Natural resources. She not only excelled academically, but also participated in Water Polo, swimming, FFA and church activities. Ella is the recipient of the Capt. Jack Scholarship.

2023 Scholarship Recipients

Sierra High School Senior - Maddy McDivitt   

Maddy is the recipient of The Capt. Jack scholarship.  Maddy will be attending Orange Coast Community College, majoring in Adaptive Kinesiology and playing basketball.  At Sierra, she played 4 years of Volleyball and Basketball, as well as participating in Track, ASB, California Scholarship Federation,  Yearbook Club,  Wellness/Mental Health Club,  Podcast Club  and Stewards of the Sierras Environmental Club. 

Sierra High School Senior - Masen Ly

 Masen  hopes to attend Fresno State,  majoring in Plant Science    At Sierra, he was very active in Music, taking leadership roles.  He participated in CSF.  Masen would like to “rebuild our forests, crippled by wildfire, and potentially develop solutions or innovations to combat these threats.”  


Sierra High School Senior - Evan Rinon 

Evan hopes to attend Boise State with aspirations of a medical career.  A
t Sierra, he was active in  Stewards of the Sierras including reforestation efforts;    Podcast Club,  ASB ,  History Club, and a  CSF  Lifetime Member.  He notes “I believe show the ability and work ethic needed for the difficulties of medical school.”

Sierra High School Senior,  Haylie Lee.

Haylie is the recipient of the Capt. Jack scholarship and plans on attending Reedley College to study Forestry.

Elizabeth plans on attending Humboldt State to study environmental science.

Jordan plans on attending Clovis Community, Montana State or NAU to study environmental business/science.

Ariel plans on advancing her education at U.C. Irvine  studying Pre-Med.

Sydney's plans are to  pursue a career in agriculture studying Animal Science and Ag Business 

The Capt. Jack Scholarship Award Winner is Langston Marjala. 


Langston plans on furthering his education with an emphasis in Biology.


Ths Capt. Jack Scholarship is  in honor of SLTTP Co-Founder Capt. Jack Yandell.

This year, SLTTP awarded $1500.00 per recipient, with funding made available upon completion of an enrollment verification process.
